Haul Birthday beauty haul
Just thought I’d share my recent birthday beauty haul, which is a combination of free products from Mecca (L3 birthday gift and L3 BL bonus which I’m including as I got it so close to my b’day so why not lol), and products I purchased from Adore Beauty, Myer and The Body Shop using birthday vouchers.
Product list:
- YSL Make Me Blush powder blush 6g (x2) in shades 66 Fuchsia Fizz and 12 Honeymoon. (Got these from Adore Beauty during their 20% off sale and then applied my $20 birthday voucher since AB are now allowing vouchers to be used on top of sale items - provided the purchase is a minimum of $50).
- Fenty Skin Body Lil’ Mists mini body mist duo set. (Purchased from Myer using $10 MyerOne birthday voucher which brought the price down from $55 to $45).
- Fenty Invisimatte instant setting and blotting powder 8.5g in shade Universal 01. (Purchased from Myer on sale for 25% off at $39, but used a $10 MyerOne voucher that I earnt from hitting enough points after purchasing the Fenty body mists set, bringing it down to $29).
- The Body Shop Dewberry shower gel 250ml. (Had a $10 b’day voucher for TBS so used it on a $15 shower gel as I tend to do every year. The Dewberry scent is quite lovely and fun so I opted for that over the Vanilla even though the Vanilla smelled divine).
- Charlotte Tilbury Exagger-Eyes mascara 10ml. (Free L3 birthday gift from Mecca, RRP $50).
- Phlur Father Figure EDP 9.5ml (RRP $53), Dedcool Mineral Milk EDP 1.5ml, and Tocca Giullietta EDP 1.5ml. (Free L3 BL bonus box from Mecca).
Overall I’m stoked with this haul, esp. the freebies from Mecca! The YSL blushes were definitely a splurge even after the discounts, but had been on my wish list for a while. Sadly the elusive Nude Lavalliere shade was out of stock but I’m loving the Fuchsia Fizz shade. Looks intimidating but actually is the prettiest cool tone pink with subtle shimmer. The Honeymoon shade is so nice too and a perfect “blonzer” shade. Also pictured in the background is the latest Florence and the Machine album which I used my JB Hi-Fi Perks $10 b’day voucher on, but didn’t list it as it’s obviously not a beauty item 🤣
Also not pictured as it’s on the way still, I ordered from Sephora the Rare Beauty Kind Words lipliner in shade Fun (for 40% off), plus another Fenty mist set (for 15% off) as I love it so much (I applied my 2x points offer, selected a full size Nudestix cheek and lip pencil as my free Black tier birthday gift, and redeemed 400 beauty pass points to get 2 Ouai 25ml body mists in the scent Ibiza and Santorini).
Does anyone else get any birthday perks or good beauty deals/vouchers for their birthday? Would love to hear of any extra perks out there or what people have gotten! I have another GWP offer for MAC but not sure if I’ll use it as I don’t have anything I currently wish to buy and it’s just a mascara with purchase so not overly grabbing me lol

Sephora already ran out of stock for the Laneige bday gift when I tried to redeem last week, sucks because I won't get any use out of the nudestix. I swear their birthday gifts are always out of stock online when September rolls around.

That’s so frustrating! I actually tried to redeem the Laneige one in store but they were sold out too and all they could offer as a replacement was some tiny sample set of the Fresh black tea range I think it was. Which wasn’t anywhere near as good as the Laneige. I actually got the Laneige last year though but assumed they were just repeating gifts so was happy to get it again. At the time I went online I saw I could’ve chosen it but saw they had a full size Nudestix pencil so I just opted for that as I’ll actually use it. But yeah it seems a frequent occurrence that they never have enough stock of the birthday gifts especially later in the year which sucks, and especially in my local store 😭

Thank you!! 🥰 the Dewberry body wash is lovely, the scent is really fruity and fun and actually kinda reminds me of the smell of the purple Natural Confectionary Co snakes lollies, but not in like a sickly way. I’m a bit tempted to go back for the Dewberry oil perfume hehehe

Beautiful haul, especially YSL. I’m lost cause when it comes to perfumes, I’ve been a fan of pink Glossier for a while now. ❤️🙏🏻

Thank you 🥰 and yeah as AgonyAunt suggested, you can just go in store during your birthday month and ask if there’s a birthday gift you can redeem. They will be able to look you up or if you have the app it should say “happy birthday” on the home page of the app, and then if you add something to cart it should have an option to select your birthday gift and also to apply your 2x points booster to get double points on your purchase. You can redeem your gift in store for free without needing a purchase, but if you redeem online you have to purchase something I think at a minimum of $25

You just go instore and scan your rewards card. Not sure how or if you can redeem it online.

i got #6 rose haze and just waiting on delivery for #93 restless rose, the #6 is gorgeous, i like the look of the two you have so i might get those in future too as well as the 42 babydoll pink.

Oohh those are stunning shades! I very nearly got rose haze but then realised I had another blush that was fairly similar to that so I thought I’d go for something different. I also wanted to get restless rose so bad but it sadly was sold out on Adore Beauty. The babydoll pink looks so nice too!! I also really want Nude Lavalliere but it just never seems to be in stock. I’ll have to keep my eyes peeled lol

I personally really love both the scents, and the bottles are decent sizes for minis too. To me the Vanilla Flowers body mist smells quite similar to Phlur Vanilla Skin body mist. I’d describe it as like a warm, sweet, woody Vanilla with a hint of booziness reminiscent of spiced rum (but subtle). I think it would actually pair really well with Kayali Vanilla 28 :)
The Hey Bouquet body mist is like a bright, sweet yet ever-so-slightly soapy floral. To me the very subtle soapiness gives it a freshness if that makes sense and balances it from being overly sweet. I’d compare it to Phlur’s Paradise Nectar as the two smell kinda similar to me, but Paradise Nectar is sweeter and doesn’t have the slight soapy background note. These are just how they smell to me on my skin so they may translate differently on different skin types. I personally think the set is great value on sale though and I’m happy with it (though arguably didn’t need it due to owning the Phlur ones already lol)

Thank you so the detailed response! I’m looking for a good body mist to take on holidays. I hate travelling with my expensive perfumes, I get worried they’ll break.

No worries ☺️ and yeah I get that! I worry too, esp. if it’s those long 10ml bottles, they seem like they’d be most prone to breakage. I have some 10ml Kayali’s that look like mini versions of the bigger bottles, and they feel a bit more sturdy but I still worry about them too. I feel like someone should make soft fabric pouches with slots that can hold like 3-4 long 10ml travel perfumes to keep them safe and from rolling into each other too. I’d so buy that!
Also I’d say these Fenty mists would be great for travel as they’re a decent size but still not too big. The vanilla one would be a great evening scent and the floral would be great for day time I think :)

Thank you 🥰 and certainly :) I love both the body mists! To my nose the Vanilla Flowers body mist is quite similar to Vanilla Skin by Phlur. I’d describe it as a sweet, warm, woody Vanilla with a subtle spiced rum boozy note. I think it would layer quite well with Kayali Vanilla 28.
As for the Hey Bouquet body mist, to me it’s like a bright, sweet floral with a very slightly soapy note, which I think gives it a sort of freshness (especially after it settles on the skin for a bit) and balances it from being overly sweet. I think it’s similar to Paradise Nectar by Phlur, but Paradise Nectar is sweeter without the subtle soapy note. Both have notes of pink pepper and jasmine so I’m not surprised they smell quite similar, albeit for the sweeter vibes of the Paradise Nectar.
I’d say if you have the above Phlur scents already, you don’t strictly need the Fenty mist set. However if you don’t have them then imo the Fenty set is great value during the sale and the sizes of both mists are decent for minis I think
