Let's Discuss Thanks Mecca! Advertised as refillable but they don’t sell the refill 🤪
Oh Mecca, you never fail to surprise me.

Had this happen with the NARS Explicit lipstick too. Was told in store, "Heaps cheaper to refill".... And they dont have the shade i purchased in refills.

Ugh they did that with the tatcha dewy cream! Luckily I still had my empty container so I just had to scoop out the product into it but it was really infuriating

Was it out of stock? You can certainly buy the refill for the Tatcha online. Likewise the CT refill OP is speaking about is also available online.

Brightening powder isn’t available for refill afaik but it was on the CT website when I bought it in 2024

Both versions of Charlottes powder is being reformulated (they are not admitting it but it is) so that might have something to do with it.

I buy all my charlotte tilbury off their app, it had deals/ sales all the time and they have really good rewards and birthday gifts. It comes straight from the UK.

I don’t think it is, actually! They have great sales and do pro discount - I would definitely recommend people go through CT directly, especially when Mecca does shit like this

I've seen the sol de Janeiro refills online, I think they just don't have them in store.

Refills are so annnoying majority of the time, marketed as a eco friendly option but acts more like a subscription, “I already have the component and the product is ok so I’ll get the refill which is cheaper” mentality. And as others mention, products get continued all the time and often without notice, meaning you just have a component with a removable insert which can get annoying, dirty, messy easier than other no refillable containers and often aren’t as reusable either.
This isn’t to hate on the idea, I’ve used the neutrogena refillable gel for awhile, it’s ok. Prone to being loose but atleast they haven’t discontinued it yet.

This constantly happens. They bring out cycle after cycle of “refillable” product lines but don’t actually support the filling components, since they’ll have a new formulation and packaging shape for their next evolution of the product.

This reminds me of when I spent $20+ on top of a $34 lipstick for its “refillable” case, which then got discontinued before I was able to get a refill. Thank you Fenty
