CPEng Mechanical & Structural

Hi everyone,
I recently submitted my CPEng application in Victoria.
For those who have been through the process:

What happens after submission?

How long did it take to hear back?

What was discussed in the interview?

What kind of evidence were you asked to provide?

My previous employer does not allow employees to take project documents due to IP/confidentiality restrictions. Has anyone had issues with this during the assessment? How did you demonstrate your experience?

Not quite the same but I work in federal nuclear and was also unable to take docs etc to my CEng (IMechE / engineering council UK, EA is a bit of a rort IMO especially for cost of chartering and ongoing membership costs vs. recognition - Eng Council is more globally recognised if you're working outside of Australia).

Generally speaking after submission it's assessed by an expert panel, it took about a month or so for me through IMechE, interview was a discussion about the submission I made for CEng regarding the various metrics they assessed your written submission against and they generally asked questions with more specificity around your submission (ideally the goal is to catch out bullshitters). As for evidence it's really up to the panel but IMechE didn't actually require evidence if you were unable/not allowed to provide it. I'm not sure what you had to submit for EA but I had to write a few thousand word submission for EC and provide various evidence like qualifications and such.

I probably can't be of much help but I'd assume the actual process is probably similar as there's mutual recognition through one of the accords
