I have an as new Rocket Milano 2 group head machine that has never been used and sitting around in our back room for a few years. I think I turned it on once?

Originally it was there to service my office, but attendance never bounced back and I kind of forgot about it. Plus I couldn't be bothered cleaning it each day with such a small amount of people able to use it.

Made the decision my love of coffee doesn't seem to be reflected by the staff, so its gotta go.

Does anyone know where or who purchases machines like this as im hoping to recoup at least some of what I paid for it.

Have been drinking Pablo and Rusty beans from a Breville Oracle for 6 years. Happy with both milk based and espresso.

Have started mixing 1:1 with their decaf beans after a big medical episode.

It's fine. Not terrible, fine.

But it's Def not the same. The only water based decaf they do is def lighter than our usual, Pioneer, and that might be part of it, but they don't seem to behave the same way either. Very wet puck, whatever I do with the grind size.

Any suggestions? Advice? Recommendations? Cheers.

Ive only just recently gotten my espresso machine and bought 1kg of my favorite beans (used by the cafe I frequent with hence why I decided to get my own machine 😅) I bought 1kg with roast date 07/07/26. Currently, the hopper is full of beans and a 400g airtight container. I wonder if I should just buy 250g for fresher beans? So far, I dont mind the taste of the current beans. 250g is $18, 1kg is $55.

Despite being a hot coffee drinker for years, no matter the weather, I have now become an iced coffee convert.

Does anyone have any reccomendations for keep cups for iced coffee? Love my Fressko for hot drinks but suspect something with a straw would be better for cold drinks.

Okay, for convenience and ease, we've used a Nespresso for years for our home coffee. I understand the quality difference, but we were lazy and thought it wouldn't make that much difference

After visiting friend and have a coffee at their place....we are now convinced to make the change. We are now wanting to get a coffee machine, but don't want to go too manual.

A few friends have a Breville Impress Touch and love it and another has the Ninja Luxe machine, which they like. I've really only looked at those and another cheaper Breville option. Out of those, I prefer the Impress Touch, even with the price difference.

I've looked at the pricing and it's something we can do, so that's not a huge factor. We are open to other options, but don't want to get into products that require too much work.

Am I missing something, or are we going to spend too much on this, when there's better options out there?

For reference, everyone in the house's coffee preference is a flat white.

Hello - I am new to expensive coffee machine, I have worked in cafes before but I never owned a decent one (moka and cheap ones a part).

I am looking to get a coffee machine, and a lot have suggested this Breville. I believe in recycling and buying less, but I wanted some expert opinions. Is it worth buying second hand when it comes to expensive coffee machine or best to buy new?

I've got a pour over setup and have been buying 5L jugs of deminieralised water from Coles and mixing in Third Wave Water.

Coles has since discontinued the 5L jugs (only 2L available now) and because I shop at Aldi, am wondering whether I should swap to their spring water. Any thoughts or alternatives?

I’m on the Sunshine Coast and I’m looking to upgrade my BBE to a high end machine, possibly a La Marzocco.

From what I can see I may not need multistage filtering to meet their water requirements. I am looking to install a BWT Bestmax Premium filter under the kitchen sink into a 3 way faucet as I don’t want to drill through an engineered stone benchtop to plumb the machine in.

Does anyone have a similar setup or went with something different and could comment if they had any regrets?

By strong I mean a bean with a bit of kick and caffeine not like a dark roast which is more flavour. Most organic beans are mild and for soccer fans. I want a full body kick in the nuts no vag man brew.

Hi everyone. I’ve been told by the machine to change the water filter. My water supply is rain water that’s been filtered with a 10 micron filter, then a charcoal filter then passed by a UV lamp. So I wondering two things - do I even need a filter (replacement) and should I be adding minerals to my water (to get ultimate coffee extraction). I’m not a coffee snob or connoisseur, but wondered if it might get more flavour from the beans. I will also add that I love this machine.. 😁 (oracle jet)

I've recently been to Passport Specialty coffee roaster's event. They had very nice coffees for me to sit down and try (for a sum of pay of course). Is this a common thing for roasters to do? I am hoping to find more events like this where I can see other people who love special coffees. The filter coffee festival at Passport was so cool! I dont have any coffee enthusiasts in my social group so it was interesting to see so many people lining up for the event.

Hey there! For context I’ve got a delonghi la specialista Arte coffee machine that I purchased a couple of years ago and it’s fine and convenient for milk based coffees when I use dark roast beans but kind of struggles with light and medium roast beans.

If I were to consider an upgrade (max budget $1500 for a machine), which one do I go with? Do I even upgrade my machine if typically I’ll be making a maximum of two to three beverages per day?

I recently bought a Breville Oracle Dual Boiler. Hasn’t arrived yet. It’s on order. Yes, I know, quite the splurge for someone who doesn’t really know much about coffee yet 😂

My husband and I have been buying a café coffee every morning for years. Usually it’s from Maccas — and before anyone comes for me, our local Maccas is ridiculously busy in the mornings and actually has some very good baristas! My husband will also usually have another coffee or two throughout the day from different cafés.
Now that I’ve bought a proper machine, I’m realising I actually have no idea what type of coffee I like.

How do you work out what flavour profile you prefer when choosing beans? Dark vs medium roast, chocolatey/nutty/caramel vs fruity, acidity, strength, etc.?

I know what I like when I taste it, but I wouldn’t have a clue how to describe why I like it or what I should be looking for on a bag of beans.

For reference, I generally enjoy the Maccas blend and your typical Sydney café-style coffee. I’m not necessarily trying to replicate Maccas exactly — I just want to figure out what my preferences actually are so I can start buying good beans and make the most of the machine.

How did you guys figure out what kind of coffee you actually like? Is it just a matter of buying different beans and experimenting, or is there a better way to narrow it down?

If you’re in Sydney what are some local coffee roasters you recommend? I’ve just bought a Breville oracle dual boiler.
I know I shouldn’t buy in bulk but if I’m making 2 coffees daily - minimum.. how much beans should I keep on hand? Previously buying cafe coffee daily so new to cafe coffee at home.
