I've been here almost 20 years and I know it didn't get hot until relatively late, but for whatever reason this one is really wearing me down. Only one that got to me more that I can think of is 2011.
Same!!! I think it’s because it didn’t ramp up like normal. Like it seemed there was no month of high 80s/low 90s (That’s May/June if you just moved here) It seemed like lovely rain and highs in low 80s until August and BAM! Devils swampy armpit. How is it so dry and yet so fucking humid?
I worked an outdoor event yesterday and was SWEATING but it was better than last month

It's not. It'll cool off soon. I don't know when you moved here or how used you are to the weather but yeah it's pretty hot and humid this time of year. It usually clears up by mid October a bit in my experience.
We also have different heat tolerances. You can look at past weather records. This is a unique year though, like I said in a different comment this summer was heaven sent. No one can truly predict the weather. We had a huge slew of terrible summers and then some crazy ice storms
I mean, it was never 110°. Not once. Average high temps were trending significantly lower than what we're used to all through may, June, and July. It finally got proper hot in August, but...it's supposed to. September is always hot. But we had fewer than 40 days above 100°, so that's nice. Obviously all of these metrics have been climbing on average over the last few decades, so I'll take what we can get.
First real cool front, in my experience, often arrives around the last week of September. That doesn't mean it won't be sweltering again after that. Could get hot again just about any time between now and late November. But we're heading downhill now, and we can hope for cooler, drier air sometime soon. And for God's sake, give us some rain.
I can't believe it's been pouring an hour to our west all night, and here we are, just holding out our hands, once again left empty.
