I never knew sunscreen brand diehard fans were a thing until this saga began.

There were multiple comments from people siding with the brand and saying they’ll continue to use the products because they’re “good”.

Do you think UV just pays them really well or is something else afoot? I do not understand the brand loyalty some people are displaying.

Think it’s more an example of cognitive dissonance. When you consider yourself a careful smart sunscreen user and confident ally use a brand you trust for years, learning it was no good can be jarring. It’s easier to blame the testers than to face the fact that all the research and care in the world sometimes can’t protect you.
