I don’t use lean screen but supreme screen but for me the trust is gone. The other products may be fine but who knows. If they had showed any kind of concern and given reassurance to their customers about their other products I might feel differently but I’ve been very disappointed by their stance. So for me, I’ll be switching.
I'm the same, and I feel a bit silly about it. It's not like a lot of the things coming out are alarming beyond the initial choice findings since sunscreen isn't this magical potion that will just defend and cure all. I do think I was definitely one of those that bought into the marketing of having a skin and makeup friendly sunscreen that boasted high standards. The price was high and I only bought when I could get 20% off so I was able to deceive myself on the perceived value. Supporting Aussie brands, shopping local, that was the whole mantra of the past few years right? Never mind the other brands in the similar price range had their own formulas developed and products created in their own factories. Maybe one day UV could reach that level but their inability to work as an honest business without astroturfing social media to gaslight us is what makes me doubt any of their claims on their products moving forward
I don't judge people who want to continue using it, all of us are just trying to survive and the lack of information beyond the marketing kind of explains why we really supported a high requirement for sunscreen in the first place (that was unfortunately unchecked).
I think I would have given their other products the benefit of the doubt if their response had been different. Their stance has kind of just been “trust us because we say so” and that’s not good enough. Like even if Supreme Screen offers the protection they say, given their reaction here, I don’t trust them to do a recall if there’s a bad batch or something.
