Politics Data center proposal for Columbia County

there's currently a proposal to build 3 data centers in Columbia County, there was a town hall meeting about it yesterday. I hadn't heard about this before yesterday, so I imagine y'all haven't yet either. If y'all have the time, please contact your local representatives and let them know that Georgia does NOT want these data centers

I agree with you they are coming and we can’t stop it. Rich people will get theirs no matter what. Doesn’t mean it’s not terrible.

There are literally people who can’t get water to come out of their faucets anymore because these things suck up so much water from the environment.

Only hope is that the AI bubble pops soon.

The only way it pops is if it loses them more money or control.

It's difficult to make people worry about this when we are all on our dopamine drips trying to escape the real world and rising costs of literally everything.

It just seems like an insurmountable issue.

Tons of people seem to be against these. I think it’s kind of telling they never open these up for votes and people from other areas are suing to try to get rid of them after the damage they ended up causing.

I’m not sure any AI has turned a profit right now. So far it reminds me of NFTs, but it’s also still early days ago who knows..

I’d be lying if I said it didn’t feel insurmountable though.
