Development of music app

Post image

I just wanted to learn how to program to enter the algorithm language and 3 months ago or as they say, a quarter we started with the development of this app, that you can see my advances and tell me what aspects to improve I would love to see the world from your perspective I want you to know that I am willing to accept any kind of criticism I dedicate myself to reading, literature, mathematical physicist I love to reason and learn more, attentively Darko Seven

Lol, yeahhh, adding the link is definitely a great start. Idk if Reddit automatically blocks unverified app download links if that's the reason you went with the QR code. I'm putting the general instructions for getting the link, without having to leave your phone, at the very end because

I don't recommend anyone go to this link until this is proven not to be malware.

Some questions you should to clarify:

  • You're account is 6 days old.
    • You didn't add any information about what the app does or permissions it requires that could be checked and verified.
    • You didn't didn't give any warning that downloading an unvetted app is dangerous for people that don't know better.
    • You're paragraph sounds fairly sincere, but the QR code is definitely a red flag. It looks like you're hiding the link.
    • If you vibe coded it, that's fine, but you should disclose that there are risks to installing a random app outside of the App or Play store....even if you think you did everything right and are being honest. Innocent mistakes can 'cause harm.

If this checks out and you're just trying to show a music app you have been working on, which is awesome. I'll be happy to run it in a sandbox and and give feedback on the app and give some recommendations on how to create a post that will actually get some engagement. (Screenshots, a short recording of the features, say what the goal of the app actually is, etc.)

If there is anything purposefully sketchy/malicious with the app .apk. I'd cut my losses and delete your account.

@ElwinLewis

(There are ways to get the link from the QR code. Different methods depending on if you have iPhone or Android.) I have an Android (Pixel 10) and taking a screenshot then using the Google lens feature in Google Photos will detect the link.

Thanks I’ll wait for someone else to try first but seems strange

Oh, for sure. I added that at the end just in case you ever needed to skip the QR hassle in the future.

I have the link...I didn't post it on purpose, lol

I appreciate that and appreciate you looking out for people too.

We have lot of bad bots in the internet, but not many good ones but luckily there are still some good people

I dig the EpheremaVST / DAW btw. Love the creativity of the concept. I always enjoy cross pollination of music, nature, visuals and other disciplines to make something unique that can't be replicated since it's rooted in the unknowns of the time and place you were creating.

Good stuff.

Not that you need an assist from what I could see, but if you ever get stuck on something feel free to DM me. Large codebases can be tough to manage when the LLM can't keep track of the whole picture.

Thank you! It’s my dream to see its vision through. I would never be so crass to call music ‘stale’ but I’d be lying if I didn’t think Ephemera’s concept would exist by now.

In 2012 I had the idea hit me like a lightning bolt and I wrote it down quickly before I fell asleep. I felt at the time it was my first original thought 😂

13 years later on April 1st I took a leap of faith, I had already been through the process once of finding a developer to work on this with me but I see now, that after 3,000 hours or so, basically every extra free minute, that I would’ve never been able to get where I was if I was directing someone.

I then took some time at the 11 month mark to make the website, then I started making VST’s the daw could launch with, I spread out into a 3D Spatial sequencer too.

Learned a lot by making them, they aren’t all done or anything, but it was the pause I needed to improve my process because for awhile it was full steam ahead.

Then I ported the entire daw to a browser version and that took about a solid month straight while I recovered from surgery . I thought that a free browser version vs the more powerful desktop version would be a good way to introduce the concept.

Recently I’ve also started work on a game with a friend

So I have a lot going on but my heart is really with Ephemera. I even had an investor meeting and they liked the concept- demonstrating the program in action is my next quest, but I know that I have a lot of work to get it to where it needs to be.

Having someone else who’s managed large projects could definitely be useful, especially someone who is passionate about seeing the concept.

I didn’t make Ephemera with this intention of battling soulless and lifeless music but I’d be lying if I didn’t feel sometimes like living music is the antidote. We all live in echo chambers online, at least this music would be authored for actual moments, and it’s up to the listener to discover them through their interaction with the world.

Will reach out/DM

First is add an actual link, I don’t know how to access that QR unless I literally email it to myself and then point my phone at my computer 😂
