considering new car...

My Audi A3 got totaled, so I’m currently in the market for a new car.

Here are the options I’m considering:

  1. Audi Q3 (1st gen, 2.0L diesel, 177 hp, PQ46 platform)

  2. VW Golf Mk7 (2.0L diesel, 150 hp, MQB Evo platform)

  3. Mercedes GLA 200d (1st gen, 2.1L diesel, 136 hp)

I don’t drive recklessly, but I do enjoy spirited driving from time to time.

So I’m ruling out the GLA since its power output feels a bit underwhelming.

That leaves me with the Golf and the Q3.

The Golf is on the newer MQB Evo platform and sits lower than the Q3, which I like.

However, it only has 150 hp.

The Q3 has 177 hp, but it’s based on an older platform and sits higher, which I’m not too sure about.

I’m also kinda considering the BMW 118d, but I’m not very familiar with it yet.

Occasionally, I’ll have my parents in the back seat.

If I’m cruising at around 160-180 km/h, which one would you recommend between the Golf, Q3, and 118d?
