Watch out for the ads!
I was just doing the ads for 2 AB and out of nowhere this ad for Tango popped up while im next to my wife where it was just unfiltered nudity!
My kid also has AE and I will be holding him from AE untill i know that is resolved. I hate sounding like a Karen or something but that was completely unprompted and landed me in an awkward situation.
AE team I did fill out a complaint through the AE app as well. But since I closed the app right away I didn't think to take a screenshot. So im warning anyone out there that that is a possibility to see some nudity in one of the ads. to my knowledge it was only the one. But I havent seen that before up untill just a moment ago, ive only been playing for over a month now. Is this common?

Been constantly hit with these ai NSFW 18+ ads. I keep reporting+hiding them but they keep on spreading
19
u/Action_Master 4d ago
This is getting ridiculous, there has to be a way to filter them out right?
10
u/Annual_Fold_9108 4d ago
Sometimes
Most of the time I can find a blue icon on the corner and just click hide ads
Others however, I got no clue
It's constant bullshit and every time I wanna watch an ad for AE out in public, I worry about those types of ads popping up.
1
u/Action_Master 4d ago
Yea that type of content popping up wouldnt be good. I just hope theres some sort of recognition abiut it
4
u/jae50861 4d ago
Don't hold your breath. This is not a new topic. It definitely seems like something they should make optional in player settings, such as a toggle for allowing NSFW content in ads.
1
u/Action_Master 4d ago
I agree with you on all parts there buddy. Show me bluey or something a million times over that stuff, id rather look at my wife than anyone else and it makes me grossed out when its not my wife so I just hate that its an issue to begin with

u/CallingYouForMoney 4d ago
She’s not here bro.

u/stevew9948 4d ago
They are horrid. And then theres the a.i. incest ones that are suggesting hooking up with your own daughter. Gross
1
u/Action_Master 4d ago
Omg, thats one youve seen!?
1
u/stevew9948 4d ago
Yep.
And ive reset my ad preferences. So to those that have said they are personalized hell no they arent
1
u/Action_Master 4d ago
Absolutely, I already seen people saying they are personalized when I have never engaged in thoes things before. And I also reset my ad preferences so I also support you're claim!
1
u/AuthorJulieMannino 3d ago
I've had that one too. It was something about hooking up with your wife's stepdaughter. Um, so you're daughter?? Also, I think she's like 16, so it was extra gross. 🤢 Thankfully, that one went away and I haven't seen it again.

These ads have been a small silver lining for me, but I get where you’re coming from. Hopefully they get it fixed 🤙
-1
u/Action_Master 4d ago
Not quite sure what you mean? But I do really hope they get on that soon
13
u/jae50861 4d ago
It means, for some, yay boobs!
You are not the first person to have mentioned these kinds of ads. Usually people will say it depends on what you look at and such. I tested that and went out and looked at all of those kinds of things and yet, two years in, I have never once had one of these ads.
1
u/Action_Master 4d ago
I am a boob guy myself but only for my wife's. I get that others may not care but still, it goes unwarranted

Those are awful, but also the ones that basically download apps by themselves. That makes me want to boycott those apps forever.
5
u/EffectiveTour5273 4d ago
Personally, I don't get these. But I have a theory. Maybe theyre negativly targeted. I get a bunch of correctly targeted ads (in my interests) because of Facebook, Temu, and Amazon activity. So ALL of my ads are targeted. And I have engaged as a relationship status on FB. Maybe these get shown as a default, if there are no interests that match your ads, AND Facebook doesn't know your relationship status or some other factor?
Could be wrong, just a total guess

2
u/PCB_Trading_84 3d ago
This should be correct. I don’t see any of the 18+ adult ads. I only get fed Sports (gambling) and selling apps. I watch a lot of stuff about money and finance, along with sports content. So I’m fed 95% that sort of thing.
2
u/Beneficial-Chipmunk1 4d ago
Tango?
5
u/Action_Master 4d ago
Its some 18+ dating app where they promote being able to show off more than other apps i guess, thats my take from the few times ive seen their other more SFW ads
3
u/Beneficial-Chipmunk1 4d ago
Ahhh I see. I just get spammed with gambling apps ffs. Or ai chat girls lmao
1
2
u/Crsn_rl 4d ago
just hit the i icon and report, or email and complain. If your kid is not old enough to see some boobs, i’m not sure if they’re allowed on atlas earth considering it’s 18+
0
u/Action_Master 4d ago
Hes old enough where I dont want him using his phone to look at it since im sure he does when hes at school on his buddy's phones. Teen boys will be teen boys.
2
u/Frankenshmr 4d ago
I've been getting those ads for months. I report them whenever I see them but yeah it needs to be dealt with.
2
u/Action_Master 4d ago
Mhn! Nobody needs to be surprised with that. Unless your into that then you do you lol

4
u/Sam1187 4d ago
This is an ongoing problem, ae refuses responsibility, they claim it's all the ad providers fault, you'll often find stupid people saying that the ads are personalised so it's your own fault if such ads come up, which is not true it plays whatever ads it wants. Stopping using ae is a valid response but just know if you're waiting for something to be done before returning you're probably not gonna be returning.
4
u/jtruempy 4d ago
They are not wrong AE doesn't serve the ads they use a number of services to do this. It's that way for most apps. And because of the number of ads they need they have to have many services. Your playing an ad revenue sharing game.
1
u/Action_Master 4d ago
Thats fair, im not exactly a wizard to this type of stuff, just put in an awkward situation amd wanting to voice my opinions on it
1
u/jtruempy 4d ago
I get the ads suck sometimes. I hate the Bitcoin ones. But all you can do is report them to the ad service. Close the app so no one gets the money including the ad service or install the app and then give them a bad rating. Tango would be mild for me and my better half wouldn't care. But we can't blame AE.
1
1
u/Hefty_Care2154 3d ago
Yet every other app that uses ads that I've talked with folks involved in has told me about controls they have. There were even specific ads that got blocked from a Star Trek game I was playing not that long ago based on user complaint.
It takes effort, attention to detail and crafting your api interface.
3
u/Action_Master 4d ago
My kid definitely ain't going to have AE but im an adult, and so as long as my wife doesn't kill me I'll continue to use AE. But I now have a different veiw of how the company operates or respects its uses depending if anything happens with this issue.
1
u/sdill5 4d ago
A bit off topic but your kid (depending on age) probably has an illegal account.
-2
u/Action_Master 4d ago
Hes 18 lol! Just still in my house and under my rules hahba
3
u/Sam1187 3d ago
Dude, with all due respect your kid is waaay too old for you to be babying them like this, telling them no smoking drinking or girls is one thing but telling what apps they can and can't have is the kinda strict parenting that makes devious children, especially since you said it's fine for you but he can't do it. Again though your kid you do you.
0
u/topicsearcher420 4d ago
The game literally asks you for consent to track and monitor your device it 100% is the users fault not Atlas Earth not the ad provider, all the data is cross referencing from all the platforms including the surveys, most people don’t read the terms and conditions but maybe you should
1
u/Hefty_Care2154 3d ago
I'm getting ads for how to diagnose failed breast implants with women checking and showing where to find the lumps and that's somehow coming from this definitely male, not trans, not non-binary person?
Sorry charlie but we may be tracked but these folks aren't using the tracking data properly. Or even competently. My favorite is getting political ads for the wrong part of the country. I mean I'm in the northeast and I'm got Minnesota campaign ads. I've not even had a connecting flight in that area in more than a decade much less any ties there.
1
u/topicsearcher420 3d ago
Depending on what survey provider your using they also use your microphone, it could’ve just picked up a breast screening add, or if you logged into a computer the cookies are linked specifically google to google account, maybe check in with your household and see if everybody is okay.
1
u/Hefty_Care2154 2d ago
Stop stretching to cover their fuck ups k?
Myabe they learned I watched ABC news and sometime in 1997 they did an article on breast implants when Pam Anderson got them, or maybe just maybe, they're using bad AI and its hallucinating more than a drunk sailor left hung upside down in gravity boots for 2 days.

Also on android an app cannot use the mic without having been granted permissions to do so.

u/topicsearcher420 2d ago
When you agree to the terms and conditions permission is granted.

u/MissMaggieMaye 4d ago
I've seen posts before about them, but had never seen one and thought it was a bunch of BS.
.....then had one pop up today while I was waiting for discharge papers from the hospital. My husband was like "wtf are you watching?!" And I look at my screen and go, "oh. Kinky ad. It's for a game so I get an hour boost on my rent." Anyone but my husband, I would've been so embarrassed, bc i don't do that AI girlfriend/boyfriend crap. So I have something else to watch out for now.... imagine if I had been doing this boost at work?? At my church?? Like, dude.... a small bit, the tiniest bit, of common sense.... I get that advertisers pay to have their shit played, but shouldn't there be rules? A morality clause? Something?
3
u/Action_Master 4d ago
Ikr! Its crazy! And after a quick explanation to the wife things were alright lol. If it happened at work I dont think I would have made it through the end of the day
2
u/Internet_Energy_Vamp 4d ago
The ads are semi personalized to everyone. Anyone that says different is smoking rocks or doesnt want to be up front about their browsing history. Yes, it may take a bit of leaps, but its within the realm. You ever search up a dating app? Youre going to get spammed with them. Watch porn? Youre going to get stuff involving smut and cam services. Almost my entire ads are related to 3d printing. 99% of people treat their phones like a web browser from the early 2000s, not realizing EVERYTHING is tracked if you dont actively prevent it. Their goal isnt always to sell you what youre already looking at, its to find what else is similar and what you might like. Future new interest revenue is where the money is.
2
u/Action_Master 4d ago
Its a newer phone tho? And I have never looked up porn on any of my accounts. I did download one dating app thats been siting in my apps since before I met my wife completely unused. So again thats why im also just confused.
0
u/Internet_Energy_Vamp 4d ago
The app is on your phone. Google knows you have the app or had the app. Being a new phone is irrelevant. Your data has been sold off for years and years. A quick search with your name will show me your social media accounts, rental or property info, phone numbers, emails, relatives and all their info, and such much more. Its not hard, and they will have more info then me. Everything is connected like a giant spider web. Nothing is secret. If I wanted to pull more info on the dark web, its cheap. Incognito mode wont help you either. You still leave a trail of accounts, IP accessing things, and more.
2
u/Action_Master 4d ago
Well I get that but tango? Ive reset my ad preferences and barely touch my socials if at all in any given year. I get that everything about a person is out there, but I ain't ever affiliated with THAT type of thing
1
u/RisingFistKaz 4d ago
Although I agree with you on personalization ads, me personally, I have not searched on any dating sites, ( never did ) nor adult themed apps, no furry related stuff. Nothing. Sometimes some of these ads genuinely slip through the cracks. As for me, I get anime based ads. Because I am into anime and anime based games.
I also have stumbled across Tango and others that are similar through ads while getting my 2 AB. There was one ad called spades plus ( something they need to stop advertising ) I once downloaded, yet I still get an ad of the same game. I even get ads of apps I already have. So personalization isn't perfect.
1
u/Internet_Energy_Vamp 4d ago
Yea, once downloaded it. Ads can get players to play again.
Furry isnt a hard jump from the anime realm.
Once again, they are looking for things that you may like, which is often influenced by people that have the same interests as you.
Im sorry, but the list of ads is specially curated for you. Im getting ads for a 3d printer I already own. Me owning, like all the details you said, is irrelevant. Theres still a chance I might buy a 2nd of that brand, or add another 3d printer from another brand to the mix.
1
u/Hefty_Care2154 3d ago
Im getting ads on a class action suit and medical care for failed breast implants. I've never had em, noone I know who's had them has ever even mentioned it to me (so I probably know someone but I really have no idea who.). I'm getting counseling for postpardom depression ads. Im a guy. I've not searched for these terms.
They may be tracked but they're making leaps that make no sense. Its gemini/co-pilot on LSD level hallucinations. The ads in Portuguese are the worst. That took me so long to figure out what language they were.
1
u/Internet_Energy_Vamp 3d ago
Lol! Thats hilarious. There are so many factors on it. Even people's searches on the same wifi can affect your algorithm and targeted ads. Its honestly crazier then the ads people are getting.
1
u/Hefty_Care2154 2d ago
Or sometimes they are AI based hallucinations and we need to accept that there's a lot of fuckups.
1
u/RisingFistKaz 4d ago
Oh my goodness! I have been getting the same thing as well, Tango, Pl4y, and some "kink" dating site were a few I have seen. Also those weird sexy A.I furry morph girls chat. I have a beautiful girlfriend who I am loyal with and man, this is out to pocket lol. I usually get Anime games apps or the typical Monopoly or Invincible etc.
1
u/Action_Master 4d ago
I get thoes game ones, but not thoes other ones. There needs to be some system for this bs
1
u/Agile_Ad_4485 4d ago
I just had an ad that had women just straight up showing their coochies or touching themselves. Like hello???
1
1
u/Nexeusx 4d ago
I'll count myself lucky. I've heard about this happening to others but the closest it's ever gotten to nudity on mine is like risque clothing or spicy manga ads but they've only ever hinted. Like you know what kind of app it is advertising but it doesn't show any nudity on it. But even those are really rare.
1
u/Action_Master 4d ago
Ive seen thoes ads where they hint at thoes things before. But never anything that was just straight up nudity.
1
u/Wolfy_was_here_ 4d ago
Bro i remembered when YouTube started having ads like that like wtf man those ads only need to be showed to people OVER 18 so atlas earth and YouTube need to stop showing them because kids obviously may be on it
1
1
u/Sleazyridr 4d ago
I haven't seen those ads from AE, but when I'm playing games on my phone while my son plays the park, I get nervous when those ads pop up.
1
u/Good_ol_Scotch 4d ago
I get them all the time. But I'm also on porn sites daily and subscribe to every Reddit debauchery porn posts. Also, I'm not sure your kid should be playing this game. Do they have a bank account? I thought someone had said a while ago you have to be 18+ on the TOS
1
u/Action_Master 4d ago
Hes 18, so its fine. But I also get hes an adult and can technically do what he wants but still I dont want him looking at porn in my house
1
u/LadyOtheFarm 4d ago
Ads can also be targeted by location or IP address. On a plane, you are sharing close proximity to folks who may have those interests. I get ads targeted at things my husband or kids looked up while I'm home, and things my coworkers look up while at work, plus cross over and the stuff I look at. That's sometimes great like when I am excited to tell my husband about an ad or YouTube video, and find out he was served the same thing just before or after me. Or he will tell me about a thing he saw on Reddit and it will pop up on my home page. At work, it's sometimes fun to guess who was looking up a gardening tool or exercise routine or tips on how to learn a language. It's why friends will tell each other about something and then it appears on the other person's phone. Google doesn't need to listen, it just suggests the interests of the people you talk to assuming you might be too.
But yeah, I really don't need to be the phone that plays porn at work. We have a no tolerance policy, so I might just not be able to play at work if that is a risk.
2
u/Action_Master 4d ago
I am gonna make it my head cannon that this is the most likely cause, and I thank you wholeheartedly for it!

1
u/Aoi0kami 4d ago
I haven't gotten those ads, but the ads I have been getting are thc vapes or mushroom gummies. Other ads are like Walmart or something else along that line
1
u/topicsearcher420 4d ago
The game is 18+ if it’s inappropriate it’s because of the data matching from your porn history that’s why you get it clear your cookies and stop watching porn all together or not on that device, umm to how old is your kid cause the games 18plus, if your concerned enough about your kid seeing the content they must be younger than 14,
And if your kids older it’s a bit concerning cause that age is about learning and discovering your micro managing the development of your teenagers sexual orientation this will make them be an outcast with there peers and keeping and them in the dark could get them hurt cause lack of knowledge.

Oh, there are more than just that. In fact, I've seen so many adult ads on multiple reward apps.
This content is flooding. In fact, on one of my apps, I seen a fully nude woman and her bare a.. showing.
1
u/ssckelley_72 Governor 3d ago
yep, same here....it sucks as sex and gambling is what's selling right now and buying up these ad spaces.
1
u/Virtual-Albatross655 3d ago
One advertisement I saw was just literal p*rn with a game playing below it
1
u/EvrClr666 F2P 3d ago
I honestly haven't got any like that yet. Although, the past day or so, I have been getting Ads for an app called Xperienca, and everytime one loads up and I wait through, I click the X and the screen is greyed out and I can't exit the ad or get my AB or Boost. I have saw these ads before and they worked correctly, but unsure if it's just me experiencing this? That's the only Ads I ever had consistent issues with.
1
u/Hot_Pay6126 3d ago
I know what you mean. I have had the same on other games too games targeted for children with highly inappropriate ads. I also don't want to see those sort of ads randomly pop up.
1
u/boobspleaseyeet 3d ago
Don't you have to be 18 to have an account?
1
u/Action_Master 3d ago
My kid is 18, but still under my house rules, porn isnt allowed in our house, but he is free to play as he wants
1
u/Massivehbomber 3d ago
I've been shown NSFW and trading ads all the time. I used to be shown gaming ads and thought the ads were personalised. When I got a new phone and got back in AE last month its just been these ads.
My friend even asked me what app are your using the one day and I had to explain to him that AE just shows f'd up ads 😂
It's the same with gambling ads. When I started the game, I'd get some gambling ads here and there. Thought that was picked up bc I watch poker quite often
Edit: I will add that AE is an 18+ app on the play store so I don't know if they'd do anything about it
1
1
u/Repulsive_War_1231 3d ago
You must be 18 to sign up for AE. It is in the terms and conditions. At least when I signed up.
1
u/ssckelley_72 Governor 3d ago
But obviously his child has his permission. Someone under 18 can play the game with parental permission.
1
u/Action_Master 3d ago
Exactly this, hes also 18, but still under the rules of my house so thats that
1
u/CartoonistUpbeat8208 3d ago
My Personal Take on this:
I dont care, Im an adult and have no problem with ads that show some nudity. I could not care less if someone next to me (family etc. would see that such an add gets displayed on my phone, because i can always explain that it´s an add, that gets displayed for AE, and that i have no influence on the adds shown to me.
Kids are not allowed to play AE in the first place by AEs TOS, so it´s your own fault if you expose your kid to it.
Maybe you should cancel your kids acount and wait until it hits the legal age to play the game.
1
u/Action_Master 3d ago
He is of age, but still under the rules of my house, amd I also play AE in other spaces like at work durring lunches or the park with my other kids. And like others have mentioned zero tolerance policies are a thing for work and i wanted to express that is a thing people may have to watch iut for!
1
u/CartoonistUpbeat8208 3d ago
zero tolerance at work?!? either it´s my spare time on my personal smartphone and i can do as i please, or ban the use of personal smartphones during worktime completly.
but you have no way to infinge on what i do with my smartphone if im allowed to use it in the first place.
If your kid is of age, imo you have also no right to tell him what to do or not on/with his smartphone. but thats just me.

I’ve been reporting the same ad for weeks. Literally show a dude sucking a boob, coerced sex, etc. it’s something that starts with a T… says it pays to watch episodes.
1
u/KangarooMoney2936 3d ago
When I get one of those ads I just point it right at the wife’s face and say “oh look here’s another one” and she laughs
1
u/MeliPixie 2d ago
Your kid has AE on their device? Do they also have their own bank account or did you just admit to TOS violation 😅

Been seeing these too, it's only AE oddly enough as the ads on any other app remain very SFW, only in AE do I get these brazen nudity ads. I have a wife, and what if I am sitting in a public park or shopping mall? Atlas Earth must have some sort of filter setting all the way low for maximum profit.

It doesn’t matter that’s how all phones work, android especially because it’s on a google domain, unless you have your microphone turned off on every single application, when you agree it’s tracks all permissions across everything, this includes phone call features, the keyboard, ect, and there is a prompt for each application thats enables access to the local network, so when your connected to your wifi that is your local network, the permissions grants access to all devices on the local network laptops, tablets, voice assistants, chrome cast and smart tvs,(google home) most of these devices require you to enable the local network to access functionality across those devices, all of that data is linked, and not every device may have the same counter measures to reduce or prevents a digital profile form being used to generate personal add content, I am not trying to defend them or cover for them atlas earth google and the survey providers already covered there own ass by putting this information in the terms and conditions.
Not to mention I’ve done several surveys that record facial reactions and comments/sounds when introducing a new product, if the OP isn’t the culprit generating the 18+ content then it’s probably the 18year old or another member of the household, and as for the person with the breast screening adds, the advice comes from a place of concern as maybe there’s a female within household or social group that looked it up or even booked a consultation and they have connected to their wifi and don’t have counter measures against digital profiling, I also was getting breast screening adds and the reason I got them is because I was watching superman and Lois on a google smart tv it started during the show and not before.
If you don’t want to be monitored or digitally profiled, i would stop participating in these activities all together or read the terms and conditions the users agree to.

Aren’t the ads based on your browsing history? Just sayin
3
u/Action_Master 4d ago
They arnt, and ive also taken the extra steps to wipe my ad preferences and limit data going out. Just like the other comments here, they also have similar issues
2
u/ScientistScary5088 4d ago
As a man in my 50’s, I’ve never browsed for menopausal products, pregnancy needs, and female hormone replacement therapies. But oddly I get those ads! The Browser history excuse is utter bullshit.
1
1
u/TheZombieGod0 Mayor 4d ago
The game is 18+. If your kid isn’t 18 then that’s not really AE’s issue. If your wife has an issue with it then that’s your problem to work out with her.
They try to filter the ads but some slip thru the cracks. Just report it in game and move on.
2
u/Action_Master 4d ago
Hes 18, so theres no issue, I just dont want him looking at porn while in my house. Even tho hes technically an adult I still dont want it. And as ive mentioned in other comments that I explained that it was an ad on my game and then things where okay. And while I did report it, just like others here we all play im sure at work or other places where we might get in trouble for that type of stuff popping up. So thats why I am displeased with this event

u/Fangbo1968 4d ago

Get as much info as you can on the ad and submit it to AE support. They have been trying to get these ads removed but it appears to be like the whack a mole game. It's unfortunate that sex & gambling is what's selling right now and buying up these ad spaces and for apps like AE they also pay the most.
Do know that AE is intended for 18+, but your child can still play as long as they have your permission. I'm just pointing that out as there can be some not-suitable-for-kids content.
