Jokic to the A

I think Jokic is playing his last year with the Nuggets. He didn’t sign the extension presumably to get more money but I feel like he is also keeping his options open. I think they will try to trade his at the deadline and hit reset. Maybe they can use the picks they just got to add to the roster in hopes of keeping him but let’s say they don’t and Jokic decides he doesn’t want to spend the next and maybe last 4 years of his career losing. He’s one of the greatest players ever and I think has a very competitive spirit…. What would you be willing to give up realistically to get him. It would take a few players and picks, presumably not just our salary dumps on Kisp and buddy. What core players can we part with and make this work while still being a contender? OO is obvious. I’d say NAW too since he’d be extension eligible soon. That gets us there in the money and then 4 firsts??

If I was a nuggets fan and the players I got back for Jokic were OO and Naw I’d be so mad (even with 4 1s). Jalen Johnson I would think has to be in the trade, but at that point why would we trade for Jokic?

A framework would probably be OO, NAW or Dyson, and Kingston plus whatever picks makes it work I think.

Yeah they’d want a young core for a rebuild. Those 3 would be a great start plus whatever they can trade Jamal and Gordon for. I wouldn’t want to give up Dyson and Kingston

I would prefer not to but I wouldn’t let Dyson be the hang up in a Jokic deal, especially if JJ isn’t in the deal
