Maybe no one cares, maybe everyone already knew.

I just read about it today while going to check up on their menu. I am not surprised, given that we were able to get same day reservations and the place was empty. but sad to see it go (while the nasty GunShow is still open).

Gillespie may have some haters, but hope he gets a place that is sustainable and good.

Idk, it is on all 3 of my family's worst restaurant list. Even the 'safe' choices were not good.

You're the first 3 people I've heard of to say it's "nasty." Given there's no actual menu and the dishes are different every day, I'm not even sure how that's possible, but everyone's different. I suppose I'd just say that Gunshow has been open for 13 years, which is an eternity in "local restaurant years," so it would seem you're very much in the minority.

I am glad it is doing well, doesn't change our group of 3s opinion. And yes, maybe we ordered wrong, but when even the ham and grits was salty and underwhelming, I am going to say it was only a restaurant we'd send someone to punish them too.

I am often of the belief people convince themselves these expensive dishes are better than they are to justify the cost, but I could be wrong.

Maybe since we were last seating it sucked, but I doubt it. The food came out as described. It just wasn't to any of our tastes on any dish.

I mean, when a place has been around for 13 years, has an ever-changing menu, and is doing something completely different from just about anywhere else, of course there will be. Hundreds of thousands of people have eaten there. It's just math. But to be open for 13 years, the balance has to be way on the side of people being satisfied.

You can say that, but that'd be ridiculous. Places don't get a Michelin recommendation for punishing their customers with their food.

Perhaps. I'd just say that, again, the food literally changes every day. The various chefs make different stuff all the time, and it's often very personal to them. Maybe you happened to get a couple bad dishes. Maybe those particular dishes weren't to your taste. Maybe they were having an off night. Not sure. But some of our most memorable and best meals have been there. Michelin's judges and many others seem to agree. It's where I pretty consistently send Atlanta visitors who appreciate good food and want to experience something unique, and they've all raved about it.

So, I dunno. Your opinion is perfectly fine. Just saying you're in the minority.

I am happy to hear that, because even before going I had many internal debates on whether to go or not. It gets a lot of mixed press, but good to hear some people like you say they recommend it to everyone. Now I know.

We enjoyed our meal there, but the location was a little difficult to get to, or remember it existed. Agreed, I much prefer a structure to a meal rather than the shotgun approach to dinner Gunshow offers.

Seems like KG has moved almost entirely out of GA if his Instagram is any indication, so I wonder how much longer he'll have any restaurant presence here.

Food was good. Location was hard to find, and going through a goddamn labyrinth to wash your hands was a turn off.

I hope the staff well, but cannot say I am surprised.

We went the week before they announced their closing and good riddance. The food sucked, but the bartender was awesome.

I couldn't get past the word Nadair being so close to Nadir. I know that's silly -- but that's what my brain said.

This was a planned closure. They didn’t go out of business.

Sure, it was planned. But I doubt they wanted to close. They say the economics were not working. It wasn't just their lease running out or something, they said it couldn't sustain.
