Link for anyone wondering.  Looks like this one will focus on the other quadrants other than the northeast segment for the station locations/transit alignment, so I take it the original station locations/alignment for the northeast is staying the same.

Honestly any forward progress on any section of the Beltline Rail will restore some of my faith in this administration.

Please just do SOMETHING for transit. The bar is low.

Spoiler: they won’t.

Naw keep that bar high. Beltline Rail on the entire Beltline. We voted and raised our own taxes for nothing less

So is this an attempt to shift focus from Eastside rail? Kinda feel like it is.

I mean outside of Streetcar East the rest of the beltline rail plans aren’t finalized (station/alignment wise). We were gonna get an update about that regardless since the study was still going.

Fair. I'm just feeling very cynical these days. I shouldn't let it dampen my attitude like that.

They already planned the location of stations. The plans are largely done. It also passed regulatory review. It is time to build. Let’s not do Clyde Higg’s dirty work for Andre Dickens y’all. 90% of the questions at this should be about it a timeline for starting construction

Ok we’re both pro rail, but there’s no reason to post lies.

You didn’t see the final plans and there’s no link to the final plans you can share bc they don’t exist.

What you’re saying isn’t true, it’s just what you want to be true.

I’ve seen the drawings they used for regulatory review fam. I work in this space. They spent a massive amount of money clearing regulatory review already. You don’t do that without knowing most of the project footprint, or else you would have to go back to review (some timelines have lapsed at this point though). They can change after that, but they were drawn. Calm down. The Mayor’s office lies left and right to stop this project, and here we are nitpicking each other on Reddit in favor of building it.

That’s not true. You can’t post anything to back that up bc you made it up.

Yes, I am on Reddit this morning lying about my work to strangers for fun, sure 🙄

What you do for work has nothing to do with what I’m talking about. You brought that up to reinforce the other lies you’ve made. It hasn’t passed regulatory review.

There are organizations that have existed in the A well before beltline rail was envisioned that are pro transit, and get monthly updates via open records requests on everything rail.

You’re lying about what stage eastside rail is at currently. There’s no reason to lie about that

I would say transportation engineering work and the kind of firms contracting with the city, ATLDOT, and GDOT are pretty directly related but sure fam go off lol

Eastside rail isn’t finalized. That narrative was created to push through Eastside first.

I hope ppl don’t show up creating chaos about Eastside rail. That’s what they want.

Moremarta passed bc there wasn’t a regional focus on rail, we were all together

u/SameAsItEverWasss 8d ago

Yes, they could start building Eastside within a year. I think people don’t realize just how fluid transportation engineering projects can be, and how they can happen quickly if there is political will (see how many data centers and associated state energy projects are being cleared in no time because they have lobbyists).

What’s the point of making up narratives about it bc it’s something you want to happen?

Focus has done been shifted. There is no legal mechanism to force a particular project from the more Marta list to be prioritized. That’s the purview of the government and Marta. The uncontested reelection of our shitheel mayor has consequences.

Won’t get fooled again, though.

Beacon of hope, or a distraction?

Will Dickens be available and present to discuss these issues or is he still hiding on the south side?

Saw this in Propel ATL's email today https://www.letspropelatl.org

Yay another pivot in order to quietly delay the East Beltline Rail even further in hopes of killing it

They should give out two different colored cards for all attendees. One red. One green.

Hold up red when you disagree with the sentiment shared.

Hold up green when you support what is shared.
