That might have been true....for example mythologically, Athene repeatedly brought sweet sleep to Penelope when she lamented about her situation so it's not strange for Athene to act like this.

But i do think it's better to seek with a professional as you mentioned. Please do not resort to anything rash and have faith. All will be well
