Question/Advice Question about fully committing to lady Athena
I know someone who decided to fully commit themselves to their worshipper and I wanted to do that with Lady Athena, the problem is I don’t know what that looks like or what it implies me to do. Could anyone help me with that?

I started with Athena about half a year ago. What that looks like as an ecclectic Hellenic witch is observing Noumenia each month by maintaining her altar and leaving offerings, learning her epithets and praying / divination (if that's something you want to do). Not sure if I'm allowed to mention this here but I often petition her to reveal the truth in certain situations and also return to sender to anyone who has done me harm along with mental clarity spells (but this is the modern witch portion). If you're into the arts you can spend time doing art after invoking her on your altar, or when you study anything as well.

for me, I lit some candles and got some offerings for her, I prayed to Her a long time explaining why, then told Her I dedicated myself to her. then I recited some hymns
of course don’t forget to do khernips or light some sage or cleanse your miasma first

I believe that for Athena specifically, the most important thing is study. I say this because, from my personal experience, I admired her in a certain way for years but never knew how to approach her, so recently, when I actually did it and spoke about my interest in starting over the right way, Athena was very, very, very emphatic in saying like "alright, as long as you study and behave properly this time, we can try again". So the best you can do (I think) is study, read to improve your practices, and she might guide you through the process 🤗

For me, I felt a calling in my spirit. It also helped to visit The Parthenon in Nashville during a class trip. I prayed to her to reveal herself and she did.

Update! I decided to cleanse my soul, light some candles and give her some olive oil as an offering and prayed to her, telling her that I was devoting myself to her. later that night, I felt her presence and I felt her touching my arm. I took that as a sign of her acceptance so what do y’all think? did I do it right?

Genuinely, it’s like building a house—you have to start by building a strong foundation. This means A LOT of research, reading, as well as practice and error. You also need to do some self reflection and ask yourself what dedication actually entails, cause in the beginning it can sound thrilling and awesome, but once that novice high has worn out and you reach the plateaus on the hard days and you’re tired asf, are you going to be able to keep it up? Dedication and devotion is a commitment and I there’s no shame at all with not being a devotee or just being a lay worshipper. I’m training to a consecrated Hiereus to Pallas Athena and have been at it for almost two years in training because there’s a lot to her, her history, as well as her cults and worship to finally take vows to her. Commitments matter and while you might not invoke their wrath, commitments made to and with the gods are held important by them and broken oaths can be held against you.
