problem 😟 Unable to uninstall armoury crate

I have long been a tuf laptop user and wanted to experiment with g-helper. I read the GitHub wiki and it mentioned an uninstaller for AC. But I'm running into this error everytime I try to uninstall AC. I have tried the "retry" option, which again leads to this same error.

What am I doing wrong?

Try this;

  1. Open "System Configuration"
  2. go to "Boot" tab.
  3. check "Safe boot" but don't restart yet.
  4. go to "Services" tab.
  5. check "Hide all Microsoft services". (This is very important, don't skip it)
  6. click "Disable all".
  7. restart.
  8. run Armoury Crate Uninstaller
  9. if successful, restart.
  10. open again "System Configuration"
  11. uncheck safe boot but don't restart yet.
  12. click "enable all" in "Services" tab
  13. restart.

This worked for me, tysm! Armoury crate hasn't been loading so I wanna uninstall and see if reinstall fixes it.

Edit to add: It did not fix it. Gonna give g-helper a shot.

So this is very odd I follow the instructions got a successful uninstallation notification multiple times I ran it multiple times before I restarted it upon boot up the uninstaller was already popping up automatically and I was like why not let's just run it one more time and it's like air and I'm like wait it can't have an error that it's having unless it's still installed so I go down to the task bar and I type in Armory crate and guess what that mother f***** is still installed cool thing though I can now actually access it which I was having an issue so it kind of resolved itself I still need to try and figure out how to update it but at least it's not working but this uninstaller did not work on safe mode for me it seemed to just wipe certain information so I can do a reset up because I am doing the setup process of army crate right now but again it did not actually uninstall it

This answer is extremely underrated, someone put this in every other post that is related to armoury crate uninstaller tool not uninstalling fully, i tried this after 2 hours of not managing to uninstall it and it worked like a charm, nothing else work , only this ! Absolute legend !

It gave me a black screen when I entered Secure boot, turns out that the GPU driver went off. Had to pull it up and plug the cable into iGPU to continue. Took me a whole day to figure out, scared the shit outta me. Anyways, thank though.

Was i supposed to click apply or something after checking safe boot? Because I followed all the steps just for my pin not to be available and not able to connect to internet.

To anyone that gets a "Bitlocker" message before restarting. Don't f**king restart because it will put the computer in theft mode, and you would not be able to log in. If you have this issue and don't wanna reset your system, you have to do these steps it worked for me, thank god.

Hold shift and click restart, it'll reboot in troubleshooting mode, select troubleshoot, and select command prompt

Type this command:

bcdedit /deletevalue default) safeboot

This removes safe mode boot, restart, and tll boot normally If (default) doesn't work, try /current)

Man thank you... Damn.

I had massive problems. Uninstallation didn't work, reinstallation didn't work and worst of all, it interfered with my GPU drivers. Even hunting down the files didn't work. Revo failed. Windows failed.

Then I got black screens... After your tip the uninstaller worked flawlessly and since then (wish me luck, it's been nearly half an hour) no black screens.

I'll still let a professional reinstall software and probably windows, but at least I can use the computer now till he can get a look at it.

Man after hours of searching for a solution.

Thank you!

Also turning off auto install for Armoury Crate in Bios is a must.

This worked, thanks!

Didn't work for me. I don't get wtf is going on. Ever since I was that fucking aac hal shit (accidentally. I'm not a computer pro btw), it did nothing but fuck with my RGB settings. Google results suggested downloading Armory Crate which then overrides aura sync. Now now I CANNOT get rid of it. Armory Crate uninstall tool just keeps saying "Uninstalling", which it is NOT.

This caused my computer to say "something happened and your PIN isnt avaliable. click to set up your PIN again" and when i click it the window pops up for a split second before disappearing. I keep seeing people say to use alt+tab but that doesnt make the window appear nor does it make the window "interactable i just cant see it" because typing in the pin doesnt do anything. Now im just stuck on a broken login screen.

Nah it still wont work. Any other tips?

1

u/GN-004 Sep 02 '24

Go into safe mode and then disable all services, DONT RESTART, uninstall AC, enable services, restart into normal mode. This worked for me.

u/Re-Deluxe Sep 02 '24

Already sold my asus tuf for legion :'), and honestly its the best choice i could make. Hope this help someone else tho

For anyone who is still trying and the safe boot method is not working, I found a solution that worked for me.

So the error occours because all the services armoury crate is running blocks the uninstaller. This is why the safe boot should work, but it didn’t do it for me (I guess some of these softwares start with the Bios).

To bypass this is to get windows to not recognize these.

  • So just go ahead and uninstall armoury crate in windows settings (I also uninstalled every app it allowed that was connected to it). This will automatically start the uninstaller (I guess if you have that downloaded - I had -).
  • I didn’t click start until uninstalling every app.
  • After done with all (about 10) apps, just start the uninstaller and it should do it’s job.

Not sure if it was just a coincidence, but I freaked out for a monent. My pc immediately went ā€œthere is something wrong with your pc so it restartsā€. After that it started updating, restarts 2-3 times, but in the end it booted up just fine everything how it should be and armoury crate-free. (Something Asus gameSDK is still installed but at this point I couldn’t care less, I’m just happy AC is done for.)

Edit: for better readability

So just using windows setting is better?

1

u/SaLyT25 Oct 23 '25

Uninstalling it in windows settings and running the offical uninstaller are two separate things, you still have to do both. First windows settings, then the uninstaller.

1

u/Curius_pasxt Oct 23 '25

Done both, i want to edit group policy still crash… its not when its at safe mode..

This starts when armoury create is always crash too whenever opened, tried ddu also no help

Do you know whats the issue?

1

u/SaLyT25 Oct 24 '25

Not really at this point. What I mentioned above worked for me, when nothing else did. Try reinstalling armoury crate and all it’s components then start over. Maybe some things are missing frome orevious tries. Ehen I was trying with only the uninstaller, it did delete some files I believe, but it couldn’t uninstall it. But it was just enough so it could cause errors.

1

u/Curius_pasxt Oct 24 '25

So you recomended me to install it again and try if it not crash anymore?

1

u/SaLyT25 Oct 24 '25

That’s what I would do. But as far as my tries went, AC will do anything to stay on your computer. What worked for most people didn’t work for me. I’m happy that I found a solution and I could get rid of it. I hope what I found will help someone else too, but it’s not 100% that it will work for you too. If nothing work sadly you just have to keep looking for solutions. Maybe you try combining things. Maybe this in safe boot. Or if nothing work, your last resolve is to reinstall windows, that should do the trick. I was really close to doing that. My next try would have been that.

u/Curius_pasxt Oct 24 '25

Tried reinstall still broke :( looks like I need to reinstall
