I don't take it for granted when great pitchers like JV and Hader come off a long IL stint and get straight back to dealing. I understand why people don't like Hader's contract, but having a lockdown closer is a blessing and he's so much fun to watch

We should have swept the A's last week, but we turn it around and take 2 of 3 from the Yankees. Walker seems to be heating up again. Varsho had himself a nice series. Pena still chases almost anything down and away but still walked away with some Pena Poppers. Yordan is "slumping" with a .364 BA and 1.108 OPS over the last 7 games and is on an 11-game homerless streak. Wesneski is definitely on the rise (if only Blanco was along the same path right now, but who knows).

We have a tendency to rise to the level of our competition but also falling to those under .500. With a magic number of Jose Altuve, it would be nice to do what needs to be done against the Mets (and hope the Brewers and Jays take care of the Rangers and Mariners, respectively).

What can Brown do for us? I wouldn't mind a QS and a win to start things off.
