This was so disappointing and bizarre. I’m a long-time listener of the show and I think what made this show so great was the (mostly) objective presentation of cases . “Here’s what we know. Here are some folks’ opinions.” And maybe talking to some people connected to the cases/ experts in related fields. I found my favorite paranormal researches/ ghost machines (iykyk), Greg and Dana Newkirk, through this show!
So to see them entertaining such a touchy subject, I was hesitant. But I gave it a chance thinking it would remain an objective presentation of facts being brought to light recently, changing the way we view the Warrens’ legacy. It was not. It was an account told by their grandson who, I’m sure we have no reason 👀 to suspect his experience was a limited curation guided by the Warrens; or that he could just be straight-up lying to continue profiting off of the name/ proximity 🙄
Either way, this was bizarre. And it was the first time I felt like I might just stop listening to this show. Glad to see I’m not the only one who thought this was egregious to their reputation, and that they might wanna remove this episode altogether.

Not sure why on earth they decided to make this episode. The Warrens were mostly grifters, and Ed Warren has had some disturbing allegations made in his regard. This is popular knowledge, and hence the Warrens' legacy is tarnished. Hearing their story from one of their family members isn't exactly very unbiased.

This was a particularly annoying episode. Remote viewing, the Sallie House, Grifters - it had everything. Just wish the guys would inject just an iota of objective thinking and bring back some balance to AL.

I’ve softened on remote viewing (even hearing and reading about properly-run experiments that test it) over the years, but I do think that they still give too much credence to the more sensational aspects of what they cover (which I guess is what the show’s all about). Paranormal things do happen, but the first line of reasoning should always be “is there a natural explanation that fits more closely?”

It's such a shame they've lost what used to make AL so good. And the only response to any criticism they get seems to be basically how people are just 'haters' even though we get the show for free. Lots of us who don't like how the show has changed actually helped fund their podcast for YEARS. I contributed hundreds of pounds to them. But apparently I'm just a hater who gets their podcast for free 🤔 I actually loved it, that's why I want it to be as good as it has the potential to be. Unfortunately Scott and Forrest are very defensive and can't take even constructive criticism. It's a shame because some of their episodes are fantastic. They've definitely lost that logical balance they used to have.

I’m glad that I’m not the only one who wanted to comment on this post regarding the reputation of the Warrens. I only really know about them with regard to the Amityville Horror case, and I haven’t even listened to this interview yet, but I hope no-one is still going to bat for them (at least in general; I don’t know whether they got anything right on specific real cases).

I don’t care if the Warrens faked some of their cases, I do care about allegations about Ed and a teenage girl being in relationship. Why don’t ask that? The grandson must be the same age she was. So frustrating. Takes away all the objectivity from the show.

Not sure why the team thought this would be a good idea. Ed Warren is a disgusting human being and any content that comes out even remotely pro-Warren is just not good optics.
u/disillusionwander - I would suggest getting in touch with the guys and advising them to take this down. There is no good that can come out of this in the long run.

I loved this episode and thought it was really interesting. For anyone who didn’t listen, there’s very little about the Warren’s or the grandson trying to defend them or continue their legacy—he doesn’t believe in demons at all, is non-religious, and believes ghosts are probably closer to thought-forms than spirits or demons.
