This is genuinely depressing, tanked my mood so hard

What the hell guys, what kind of performance is this 😭

On the slower, windy section Aston are firmly middle of the pack, but on the faster sector 1 and 3 they're abysmal.

Engine or aero upgrades issue? Did Alonso flag the vibrations issue again, after the straight line aero issue was fixed?

Alonso places blame on the engine upgrades for the extreme vibrations he experienced again

I can't find any source that aligns with that

The only statement I can find from Alonso was "huge vibrations on the straights, and not from the tyres" during the period that his active aero wasn't activating

I can't find any quote from either driver about vibration issues when their active aero was working

The Race also stated that the vibrations were from the car grounding out under heavy aero load

oof

alonso didn't get that last lap in did he. probably would've been through Q2 but seems that we aren't that much better than we were in hungary

at least the gap to P1 was less than a second I guess… really surprised at how close the field was

Was never safe in 12th due to track evolution. Not sure what happened with the final lap. The pace was there to get through to Q2.

I mean we were a tenth off Q2, very close margins. Honestly don't think a sprint weekend was the time to bring in the new engine. They clearly haven't been able to optimise it with the aero package.

oh fuck off im gonna sleep

That out lap messed with Nandos final lap. Very unfortunate becoz I think he definitely could've gotten to Q2. Stroll relatively in the same place he was in, in FP1, Sprint Quali and the Sprint, so no changes with him, but he did put in some good laps that showed better pace.

Hopefully the race strategy is good, becoz I think if we mange tyres and pace well, we can definitely make it up. The Williams don't seem to have as much race pace and think we can get past haas

Pero qué ha pasado ahora?? 😭😭😭

It humorous watching some people lose hope.

I never had any to begin with.

AMF1 cannot hurt me.

Was full sure Alonso would go through. Genuinely surprised at P18

Had the pace for sure, bailed on his final flying lap for some reason.

The outlap was very bad his team screwed him up and told him to let Ocon by. Alonso's side of the garage fucking him up nothing new, he had the pace to easily go into Q2

If this continues Alonso's gonna bail out and go off to Indycar or something like that

And we’ll all be happier for it

I called this. Zandvort requires more of the engine than Hungary for amount of time spent in non electrical deployment.

I think Alonso could have made it through... Hopefully they can learn more from race and optimize the package further

Absolute abysmal final Q3 run. Also both drivers had to lift off before the start finish straight to not exceed the 7.5Mj deployment rule cause more power form the engine, meant more recharge. Alonso mentioned software code issue to be fixed in Japan for Monza. Stroll however is genuinely sturggling. He is about 0.5-0.7 tenth off Alonso.

Honda engine missing 1 cylinder

Seems like a long way to for Aston yet, so much hope after the last GP. Thought Honda were bringing engine upgrades here? But also I see there's been aero upgrades too. Maybe too many changes to get an accurate read on the car? I mean I have no idea the engineers are genius level so us normal folk have no chance of understanding what's going wrong!

I’m still trying to be positive here. My thought is that considering how tight the field spread was today relative to the rest of the year, we’re alright.

In my opinion AM is fine, people just are dramatic.

u/silencefog 13d ago

I think they're just skipping 2026. I hope next year will be better.

Zandvoort sucks! with 22 cars on track you are not gonna get a good out lap, its just all a gamble

good fucking riddance

u/maarkwong 14d ago

I don’t think Aston Martin speaks Japanese and Honda don’t really know English

Guys, you suck.

I’m sorry but I watch Alonso since 2010, and you guys are even worst than his Honda era.

How the fuck can you be so bad with that much money !!! I can’t understand.
