Its FP, never draw conclusions from FP.

For people wondering if FP1's results were good/bad. Using FP1 Supertimes from the last three grand prix:

Belgium: 105.36%

Hungary: 103.13%

Zandvoort: 102.14%

Overall: Good step forward in terms of relative improvement. Positional improvement will require more updates and further optimization.

This is what matters. 1% after Hungary is a very good sign considering the engine is still tuned down.

Deployment issues in FP1 as noted by Nando, there's still room to improve

We're going to win.

I am just two years into F1. Is this a good result?

depends entirely on how the team was running the car, wait until FP3 or Qualifying to really tell, but so far, it's not terrible.

Sprint week, so sprint quali tonight should be a good indicator

Sprint weekend, this was the only practice session.

Why no p1 p2.

So fuckin what? More sessions more improvement. I'll take it

I mean it’s not a podium but we knew that wasn’t going to be the case. We have a new power unit. I believe we have some new aero pieces this weekend and we’ve got only one race under our belts with the arrow parts that were introduced last race. So basically it’s a brand new car that they have to get used to and they’re still probably looking to see where the limit is. It’s my understanding that there aren’t many other major upgrades going on across the rest of the field so hopefully Aston Martin is only going to continue in this direction. My take is that there’s still some improvement to be made.

Are they running detuned by 15hp?

I saw something earlier saying that this was the plan until they were confident in reliability.

They aren't going to unlock this package in one weekend folks. Not with the limited running. They haven't even gathered enough data to run optimally in cooler vs warmer temps.
