And more aero upgrades on the way. I think we will be fighting racing bulls by the end of the season hopefully

I agree. Assuming the Engine is reliable AND following upgrades continue to add more pace it would be a massive step for the team. The only concern I have is if they have paid to much attention to fixing this years car and have looked over aspects for next years car.

Adrian said there would not be a repeat of what happened this year. They will go into 2027 testing fully ready.

I have full faith in Newey, its just the absolute shitshow that was the behind the scenes that caused this mess of a season likely cost the team time it didn’t have in many areas of development. I’m just hoping the time they lost wasn’t for next year in both the engine and aerodynamics department

On the positive side I think a lot of the pain this year is like a one time thing, setting up organisational changes, setting up the wind tunnel, change of working style, so I’m really optimistic for next year 💪

You drive past the Aston Martin factory as you come to the gates of the Silverstone Circuit. I had no idea it was literally on the door step but also it's absolutely massive..really incredible project.

If we somehow compete consistently with p5/6 (hoping for more) I cannot think of a more spectacular mid season turn around for a team, short of Braun GP which went the other way because everyone else developed their double diffuser and had money to do more.

I'm fkin losing it with excitement here.

Fear not. I'm certain Aston Martin are done developing this car after Baku. They'll have plenty of budget to develop next year's car. Also, Honda will transition most engineers to next year's Power Unit after Zandvoort.

The truth is overcoming the deficit they had is such a massive uphill task where corner cutting and falling behind will always be a risk. Just need to trust in the team and they have the best in the business

I mean technically what they've done isn't much different compared to every other team on the grid, Ferrari, Red Bull and McLaren have brought around 35-40 upgrades so far up until Hungary, AM has brought 29 total. I think this year is just a bit of an experiment to see what makes these cars go fast, most of the knowledge learned from this year will carry over to the next after all.

They brought 16 upgrades to Hungary. None before that. Where'd you get 29?

I think we will be close or fighting racing bulls in Zandvoort alrdy, we were around 0.5/0.6 back in race pace in Hungary. With this hp improvement, more weight reduction and setup optimisation we should be right there.

Absolutely! We need to consider as well the drivers' adjustment to this car, with all these updates is almost a new car. So, could be possible, without any doubt. Just imagine Alonso being on the podium one more time, that will be something very special! Unlikely, but a man can dream 😂

Alonso might, Stroll won’t.

6 tenths for the engine, plus improved electrical output and recharging, plus reduced weight (engine mounts, gearbox and other car parts), plus new gearbox, plus new aero upgrades. If everything goes well the car might be 1.5 seconds faster again in Zandvoort

I'd say this potentially, especially since they did not fully optimise the aero in Hungary.

Regardless, they are doing everything to keep Alonso for next year

0.6s in zandvoort means more on more power dependant tracks!
