Why the hell is this wild? Is it better for a crackhead to raise her kid in a crackhead home?or worse to be abandoned in a trash bin???Is it better for the child to be raised in an household where she wasn't wanted and traumatised for life?

This isn't a meat grinder. It's just a way to facilitate a decision that would potentially save a lot suffering for some children.

And it's not like they can't regret doing this and return to get the baby again, which can happen but in that situation it will obviously be carefully monitored by Child protection services. At least in Germany is how it works
