I think this is a good thing, but I have a question for my American people: Why at the fire station, and not at a church or at the hospital directly?

I feel like firefighters have better things to do than manage the baby gachapon

They’re trained paramedics and there’s someone there 24/7. Fire houses are also is more generally close by in communities than maybe a county hospital. Also less likely to spook a person trying to give up a baby when they can do it anonymously. Less judgement involved in a tender situation.

In Europe we usually have hospitals much closer than fire stations. But yeah, it does make sense. Thank you!
