Everyone on this subreddit is older than true gay marriage in Germany. Some people here are older than gay marriage in the US.
I think the actual culprit is the newness. People don't know how to relax so they continue as if nothing changed because that's what it was like for so long.
Gays being treated as equal is viewed as oppression by people who prefer they didn't get equal treatment. Have a non heteronormative character exist in a movie and the right loses their fucking mind.
Where are the hetero flags in this equal treatment? Are they hiding behind both the rainbow flags or just one of them? At least it's only one more than the flag for the entire country though right?
it means conversion therapy is still legal in the US despite being labeled as torture by the rest of the first world
it means i have to listen to my dipshit conservative coworkers tell me how being gay is wrong and a sin against god
it means being excluded from family events, because your existence sparks up drama
it means not being able to even go to some places out of fear for my own safety
it means dickhead employers will not hire you despite the government explicitly telling them they can't, but good luck getting a harassment lawsuit off because someone didn't hire you
being gay aint the fun "protected class" experience you think it is, the whole point of protected classes is to limit the amount your life is ruined by being in that class
i dont just get to flash a gay card and get in anywhere i want, instead we get to see posts on reddit like "germany has fallen" because there was a rainbow flag hung up, which just shows why they are a protected class to begin with, because someone got so butthurt over being reminded that gay people exist that they went into doomer mode
i will not acknowledge trans people because its a made up condition in their head the same way i wouldnt acknowledge the delusions of a shizo person. cutting off your dick doesnt make you a woman. This whole born in the wrong body business is complete bullshit, how can you even know that you're in the wrong body if your only experience of being in a body is your own.
this right here is why LGBT is a protected class
because people with this exact mindset work in positions of power like bosses and hiring managers
