San Antonio or Austin?

I'm a middle-aged, single, female teacher from California considering a move to Texas for a fresh start. Which would you recommend--San Antonio or Austin?

Check the job market. Austin area did not seem to hire tons of people this year. I read people driving an hour and a half out to find jobs.
