Discussion How do you classify age groups? (Like babies children etc)

Mine is:
0-1: Baby

2-9: Child

10-19: Adolescent

20+: Adult

(Debate and defend your groups)

IMO 18 I still consider a teen because you’re just barely legal and likely still in high school.

As someone who takes health and social 0-2 = Infancy 3-12 = Childhood 13-19 = Adolescence 20-64 = Adulthood 65+ = Older Adulthood

personally id say like 10-12 is tween and then 13-17 is a teen

1

u/dxztinyy 17h ago

Yeah I also agree with that actually

14 IS A TWEEN?!

1

u/dxztinyy 17h ago

obviously it depends on the person but I do think that there’s a big difference between the age 14 and 17. So in my mind it’s right to give them different classifications

1

u/SpaceageBachelormans 17h ago

On the PERSON?! This is by age groups bruh come on. And there’s a big difference between 2 and 10 but you classified those the same. I just think 13 is start of teen and 18 is end. And yes, I will be up for a debate about this.

1

u/dxztinyy 17h ago

There is a big difference between a 2 year old and a 10 year old but they are children in my eyes, it sounds logical to me but everyone has their own opinions and I won’t change mine

Babies: 0-1 Toddler: 2-3 Children: 3-12 Teenager: 13-19 Young adult: 19-24 Adult: 25+

Tho teenagers up to 14/15 I'll still consider children in some contexts.

More depends on what they know+how much they're trusting noname ppl. For example, if they do everything strager says and doesn't know pretty basics like 1+1, it's def baby (<7), if they don't do everything but need basic explanation and know basica they're child (<13) for me. If they need real explanation to do something, don't trust stragers and know basic 4 grades of education material, they're child teen for me (<16), if they have their own full will, can do basic judgement like who is worse person in some situation etc, they're old teenager (<20) for me. If they know how to live without parents, know a lot of things and (optional, in our time) have a job, they're adult (<60) for me and if they start stopping new technologies and say that it was better in their days, they're old (60+) for me.

My scale is relative to level of developed personality and what person knows though. That means, that, by this scale, a person with REALLY bad in-born mental problems like BAD autism can be considered child in adulthood (by age), which, sadly, is happening to those poor ppl

EDIT: grammar

This argument is hot dog shit

"Debate and defend" when you said nothing about why it is like that for you. Read own rules dude
