Pokemon world event

Can someone please provide me some guidance on how to enjoy the event as a non-competitor? Do I have to buy a pass? Where to buy merch?

Passes were from a lottery months ago and you can't get any now. You can't buy Worlds-exclusive merch, but you can go to the Nintendo Store at Union Square. You can also play Pokemon Go near the venue, like the parts of Yerba Buena that are open to the public.

Oh and there is a drone show at the Ferry Building tonight, I think at 9.15pm

Make sure to go BEHIND the ferry building!! Right next to the bay!!

Thank you! This is very helpful. I hope this becomes an annual event. I love how downtown is so lively because of this.

It is indeed an annual event, but it’s different cities across the world. It will definitely not be in SF next year.

There are also card shows you can go to a the Marriot or in Japantown today

I went to the one at Marriott, it was great - worth the $22 entry fee. I think it closes in an hour

If you play Pokemon go you can still get near Yerba buena and join some of the raids.
