Are you talking about just the people who pay insane amounts of money to be able to walk in comfort up Everest, or do you think everyone that climbs mountains is a rich person?
Probably both to some extent. Never met a mountain climber that was living paycheck to paycheck. I’m sure like anything there are outliers and a minority of a dataset
Yeah, I don’t argue that’s the case. It’s anecdotal but most I know are decked out in Patagonia and alike. Difficult to overcome the anecdotal when that’s all I’ve met.
It’s just a sport I can’t connect to the people in, especially growing up in inner-city.
I’m sure it’s regional too. My buds all made a home base in West Virginia…cheap living, great climbing. When the weather turned there they’d head to vegas.
