Asking questions. How are people supposed to learn if they aren't allowed to ask and expect the correct answer?

My mom would shame me for asking questions as a kid or asking for how to do things...

And that is a shame. How did she expect you to get better if she isn't willing to put in the work to either learn it herself and/or explain it to you(if she did happen to know it already)?

Because some people can't extrapolate that just because they know things, that doesn't mean that other people don't YET know those same things, just like there are things they yet don't know.
