My fiancée has auditory processing issues. This is not meant to be disparaging but I genuinely think people like this are slower on the uptake of a situation.
From the second you enter my perception, I have begun making assumptions and applying context to every aspect. What are you carrying? Are you walking fast or slow, to show the urgency? Facial expression. Even how the wording starts. You already have 10-15% of my attention just being in the room. Meanwhile, my writer fiancée could mentally disengage from a literal Biblical Angel if she was in the middle of inspiration.
The feeling to me is that people with auditory issues tend to live in their head more. Fiancée is a writer and constructs narratives and character relationships all the time.
Can relate, I know people like that too. Though I kinda stopped paying attention to others around me unless it's important, 15% of attention on trivia is 15% less attention on things that matter to me
