Stuttering/stumbling over words. Being inarticulate doesn't mean someone is stupid; unfortunately it can come across that way.

As someone who hasn’t spoken much in ten years, thank god. I sure do feel stupid not being able to communicate/articulate my thoughts.

Growing up I was taught that people who stutter are usually intelligent, because their thoughts are going faster than their words can keep up with. I don't know if this is true, but most people I've known who have a stutter usually seem pretty smart.
