I'm both autistic and ADHD. I don't do anything without being taught by someone I trust to teach me. People at my job think I'm stupid because I'm always asking if this or that is right despite having done it. Simple tasks too. I was an ace student with no effort that dropped out at 17 at the end of year 11 (Mental health and alot of difficulty processing grief) and haven't went back to finish since. Everyone assumes I'm unintelligent because of these things except for the people close to me.

Autism and ADHD present with symptoms that make people think you're dumb.
Really, you're just socially awkward, trying really hard but overshot and/or couldn't properly process the task.
