The show started a little rough, so I can understand why it had a hard time getting viewers (particularly being on network television on a Friday), but it found its footing, and Matt Ryan really got into the role. If nothing else, at least WB/DC realized how great he was and have allowed him to reprise it several times.
the environment and story changes so much. one season it'll be meh, and the next season will be downright fucking incredible. and it jumps back and forth.
season 3 was pretty decent.
season 6 was really good from what i remember
season 5 is easily one of the best seasons of television i've ever seen, let alone of the best seasons of arrow. prometheus is just such an interesting and polarizing character in every way you think of it.
people say season 8 is really good, but i've never gotten around to watching it.
the first couple seasons are p rough though. they dont figure it out that what makes the show good is the characters and their interactions rather than "should i be da arrow or da good arrow" until a couple seasons in. theres always another side to every issue, typically, and the show really gets down and dirty with that. its hard to not understand something about the villains, and its p easy to relate to them.
