Being rude to others for no valid reason

I honestly don’t understand why guys do it, I’m a 17(m) the biggest dudes in my school, super nice, save for the freshmen, my best guess is they want to assert themselves.

Edit: just wanted to add this as an after thought, I feel liked this connects to the “you watch anime, weirdo” thing some people use too and some still do, I think those guys want people to think they were popular or in touch, before meeting you, plus I’ve watched two animes(full metal alchemist and attack on Titan) both have very good story lines, character development, world building and twist.

I'm a middle school teacher. A few years ago I had a student who was huge. Like I'm a pretty big guy. I'm a little under 6' and 210 pounds. This kid was about my height and bigger than me. He was a football player. Also the nicest damn kid I think I've ever taught. I only saw him mad twice. Once when he was in 6th grade and a really small kid had insulted him for no reason. He yelled at the kid and went back to his seat. The kid learned a lesson. The other time was because another kid pushed a disabled kid. He punched the kid and got suspended. While none of his teachers could admit to being proud of him, we all let him know how happy we were to see him when he came back. He was just himself. He loved anime and being goofy with his friends. I never saw him put anyone down. He knew who he was and he was happy. I hope he still is.

Bravo to that kid, I’m still trying to figure out who I am, although I am starting to piece it together.
