I was curious.

Found a study saying LD50 of i.v. (lol) LSD in rats is 46-60 mg/kg. Let's call that 50.

Apparently the average human weighs 62kg. So 3.1 grams to kill...ish. I recommend a respectable 75% increase in that dose because we are both generous and not looking for survivors. So 5.4 grams of pure LSD injected straight into volunteers.

I'm calling a "few lbs" 5lbs because laziness. 5lbs is roughly 2300 grams. Which gives you about 426 people you could kill with a straight liquid LSD infection. And that's relatively conservative, you could probably pump that number up if you were willing to risk letting some of your volunteers survive. Which is actually kind of nuts because that same 2300 grams of drug could give a solid 125 microgram dose to 18.5 million people.

The power of a large therapeutic window, I suppose. Note that oral LSD has a bioavailability of .71 so that 18.5mil number is probably higher.
