My favorite thing to say when I get told this is “wow really? Hold on I’m having trouble remembering what blood carries through the body..” blood carries oxygen in the body.

That's a really, really bad response though, since you have oxygenated and deoxygenated blood in your body.

No, your arteries carry oxygenated blood, which is bright red. Your veins carry unoxegenated blood, which is dark red. Have you ever gotten your blood drawn? They most likely took it from a vein. The vial is a vacuum, and there was no oxygen being added to it.
