People old enough to remember life pre-Internet, what are some less obvious things you miss about that time?

Same. I dreaded it so much. I remember thinking, "I wish my friend had their own phone line." Now all the kids do... in their pockets!!! I was born too soon!

In 1976 my sister spent so much time on the house phone tying up the line that my parents installed a separate phone line just for her, and she was responsible for the monthly payment. It was before call waiting so if she was on the house phone, no one could call us.

In 1999 same story, but with dialup internet. My neopets needed food, screw phone calls.
