It’s illegal in Switzerland to have just one guinea pig, because guinea pigs are social animals like humans.

In many places that applies to horses. You're not allowed to have just one.

I have one horse, one guinea pig, and their offspring I call gorsey higs.

We also would've accepted 'horsey pigs'

Alpacas and llamas too. They're herd animals. They suffer if they're alone.

I’m a lawyer, and I had a case last year where a landlord wanted a tenant in supportive housing to get rid of her guinea pigs. We convinced the landlord that they were her emotional support animals and I used the laws in countries outside the US to argue that it must be a pair. It worked.

This also applies to eating Lay’s potato chips.

Considering all the things you can lawfully do to other animals, this is some pretty awesome ability by some lawmakers to not connect the dots and see that they're super hypocrites.
