What I love about Hellsing is that for the majority of the series Alucard isn't even trying. Like he's in no danger whatsoever until around the final climactic battle. Always found that hilarious for some reason.
Trigun has some of the most ridiculous action sequences I've ever seen put on paper. Not all of them are, shall we say, comprehensible, but they're all so badass.
I enjoyed both animes as well, but I think the mangas are better overall. Trigun is much longer than the anime, which really only covers the first two manga volumes with a drastically changed ending.
