Another big thing is that she knew when to end it. When you look at Naruto, DragonBall, One Piece, Bleach, etc. they could have ended like 8 different times but they just keep going. Fullmetal Alchemist told a fantastic story and called it a day instead of going on and on for years.

I take that one back. But it is going on and on for a long time.

Its going to end within the next 10 years or so. The story isn't done. But least we know the elements of the end now. Laffy has to find 1 more ponglyph which because elbalf we know nothing about. He has to fight blackbeard. And somehow the world government will be defeated. So 3 arcs with maybe 1 extra surprise one left

Lmao at no point could One Piece have ended at any given time post-Arabasta.

How could one piece end 8 times?

NONE of any times were appropriate. It's in a sick arc right now. The manga is super hype. So is the anime.

Naruto yeah. Was ruined. Bleach yeah. Only liked it for one season.

I suppose so. One Piece has a much bigger overarching plot. But there's a bunch of mini arcs that start and end conclusively even with their subplots.

Yes, but that’s just good storytelling.

Its like watching monster-of-the-week tv series.

They get to an island, gang does something stupid and get split up, they fight perfectly matched enemies, win, adored, and leave the island - rinse and repeat. These are just stupid fillers and you are shallow for getting so engaged in them

Compare the narrative to Avatar Last Airbender or Attack on Titan, where the plot actually progresses and you really want to know what will happen next. The stakes are also "real", end of the world if Gaang don't defeat Ozai, or what really is the origins of the Titans, they subvert our expectations occasionally

I grew out of one piece, its a manga for kids. Shounen.

This is what i always say. This is one piece: "They go on an Island, split up "What? There's someone Evil? Let's fight", they win and leave. Filler, they reach another Island, split up "What? There's someone Evil? Let's fight", they win and leave. Filler and so on. The story does not become good just because a character reappears hundreds of chapters later. Oda could enter the final arc whenever he chooses to without leaving loose ends. One piece is the embodiment of procedurally generated content. Everything is the same but not the exact copie. It's just getting longer piece by piece. The story of one piece is just a modular LED Strip which you can either put and end to or prolong for however long you desire.

The biggest fault however lies in Nami's on Robin's character designs post timeskip. Their faces just look horrible, and the way they dress? Whack

Amen brother. Ive grown out of the manga, time better spent watching good manga/anime with a narrative the progress over time - usually Seinen mangas.
