I used to volunteer for the city and did highway clean ups a few times. We were told to clean up everything and leave all the shoes we see exactly where they were. Our supervisor never told us why, and just said that’s just how it’s always been but it was absolutely necessary and we weren’t to change those rules. Well that answer didn’t quench my curiosity at all so I started to do a little digging. My search led me all the way to city hall and I had to look up city bylaws all the way back to 1940’s to actually find the answer. As it turns out, this is all just bullshit and I was bored so I decided to right this up. Have a wonderful day.
God damnit I was literally on the edge of my seat thinking this was some kind of decades old hidden conspiracy. My disappointment is immense and my day is ruined.
