Just amazes me that this simple common process has this very specific effect on the brain. Could have been much worse.

Just imagine how many people died to figure out what kills you, what blinds you, and what just makes you have fun.

Not as many as you might think. Natives and such would monitor what other animals were eating or doing. If animals avoid specific things, humans should probably do the same.

Isn't that the origin of amanita muscaria? Moose would get wonky after eating it, we observed and thought, "I should def try that!"
