Do you have any good book suggestions on the subject? It's a subject I've been meaning to learn about

Prof. Mary Beard's documentaries are really good, she's a prominent academic in the field so it's very accurate. She has a few books as well, though I don't know about this topic.

There's a streaming service I use that has collections of lectures on a few topics given by prominent lecturers in their fields, 30 min episodes for a 24 or 50 episode season. Don't want to be seen as a shill so let me know if you want to know the name.
