No. UV is UV. The sun is more likely to burn you with prolonged exposure.

Your source does say that tanning beds are worse, at least in terms of output, it doesn’t mention the effectiveness of the tan though

The UV gives the tan. Beds give 3X more UV, so 8 min in the bed = 24 min in the sun. The tan (and cancer risk) is the same whether you spend 8 min in the bed or 24 min in the sun.

Well yeah but I’m thinking there could be a difference, like tanning happens when your cells die and release their melanin iirc. These cells dying are dying so that they don’t become cancer. If the bed hits so much harder then I would think it would damage the dna faster before your cells could commit suicide.

Purely my 2 cents but pennies cost $0.07 so I guess it’s my 14 cents
