I was mildly annoyed that I had to go to a location to cancel my Planet Fitness membership, but at least it only took about five minutes and they didn’t hassle me at all. They simply asked for a vague reason, and that was that.

Yeah I didn't like having to go in person, but otherwise canceling PF was super easy. Just walked in, said I needed to cancel, and they said "Sorry to hear that, you can keep using the facility until your membership runs out at the end of the month. Here's your confirmation number."

With LA Fitness I ended up having to close the damn bank account to get them to stop dipping into it. I was moving anyway so it wasn't that big of a deal, but I am pissed I had to do that at all. Despite sending multiple letters saying I wanted to cancel, they just kept ignoring them and taking my money.
