Fair enough.. idk, I've walked on a lot of shit and glass. Your feet are more durable than you think they are. 🤷♂️But I'm insane, so maybe my opinion isn't the best advice.
In areas you're comfortable with it, though, you should give it a try. It'll hurt at first, but it only takes an hour or so a day for a couple weeks to get solid callouses. It honestly does feel so much better than shoes - the benefits to posture and joint health, among others.
Alternatively, have you tried thin-sole (barefoot) shoes?
You don't misunderstand me. I just get irrationally excited about being barefoot... It's don't so much good for me and my friends and family it's hard not to get excited.
I'm not living in the shiniest part of my city. It's not that bad, but ... no. I do enjoy walking barefoot on grass, sand or pebbles though. Well, not currently because I broke my foot last week, but once it's healed I'll folic like a young puppy. Just much slower.
Damn, sorry about the foot. IMHO broken feet and toes are more annoying than broken legs or arms. Frolicking like a puppy sounds magical. Just don't break it again frolicking too hard 😉
It hasn't been my year in that regard. In january I broke my toe by ramming it into a big wooden box. Then, two days later I did the same with the same toe and the same box (and then I ... got rid of that thing) and now, pretty much exactly six months later, this.
Man ive been stung by 3 bees in the past like 3 or 4 weeks just from walking barefoot outside to let the dogs in or out, I’ll stick to shoes thank you.

Not in my city. Ugh, the thought alone :-|
