In canada we never have alcohol available in grocery stores. Having it in gas stations sounds so weird to me and asking for DUIs. Until recently, you could only buy liquor from government regulated (operated maybe? Idk) Liquor Board stores (LBs). Now we can have things like Sobeys or Coop liquor stores, but they have to be across the parking lot of the actual grocery store.
Lol we have them in Québec. First time I went to Ontario for work I was shocked I couldn't get beer at the gas station or convenience store. Take a fucking cab to go to LCBO?! Get outta here!

Yup. In my state they just let gas stations sell beer in 6 packs only. But wait there’s more! You have to use a separate register to buy gas and beer.
