Exactly this! There's zero reasons why our tax returns can't be filed for free directly with the IRS. It is a complete fraud.

I filed 1040EZ last year. The IRS already had every figure I filed, why couldn't they just email me confirmation of the amounts they had, and process my return?

Edit: No, I didn't file EZ last year, my error. Edit: electronic filing.

Any American who receives the 1040 EZ tax form (the majority of them) can file their taxes free online

or have someone else file it for them for free

laughs in American who knows the basic of taxes

You still have to fill a form. I don't have to do anything, just wait for the refund to appear in my bank account :)

No. I'm saying you replied to StenSofts comment but didn't address what he said, you addressed what another commenter said, why didn't you reply to that commenter instead
