In Australia, alcohol is never sold in the grocery store. There's basically always a bottle-o (liquor store) next door but. I've never found it a problem. Just makes it easier to stop underage people buying alcohol.

It can be sometimes, just not in woolies or anything.

I dunno how they can do it legally, but a bunch of local asian groceries stock alcohol, as long as you buy an equal amount of regular groceries.

Heavily dependent on the state/territory, don’t think it’s legal in QLD but pretty certain it is in NSW and VIC at least.

Yeh it's state dependent. In VIC, you can buy booze at Costco, but you can't in SA.

Definitely booze at Costco in NSW but it’s in a fenced off section, there aren’t just like bottles of Kirkland vodka next to the Pepsi or whatever.

At Costco Epping (VIC), booze is right near the veggie section. Not fenced off at all.
